The Diocese of Fresno Education Corporation proudly reveals their new brand! Anticipating the new school year, the Office of Catholic Education which operates the Ed. Corp. wanted to refresh their look. The Diocese of Fresno Education Corporation is led by Joan Bouchard, Superintendent for Schools.
Although The Diocese of Fresno Education Corporation is a separate legal entity from The Roman Catholic Bishop of Fresno (The Diocese of Fresno), the Office of Catholic Education is a part of Bishop Joseph Brennan's Pastoral Center staff.
The Office of Education is served by the following staff members:
Joan Bouchard, Superintendent for Schools Sarah Mattos, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Jeanette Sutter, Director of Finance Tessa Jimenez, Secretary
The logo itself is a symbol of the service that goes into Catholic Education. Catholic Educators are called to their ministry, building up God's Kingdom by:
Assisting students to grow into fullness of life in Jesus.
Embracing their baptismal call to ministry.
Continuing the mission of Jesus in their lives.
Although each one of the 21 schools throughout our Diocese is unique, the goal of the Office of Catholic Education is to unify the achievement of Fulfilling the Mission of Jesus Christ in every student.
Starting at the top of the new logo, the arch shape symbolizes the physical church, which is the base of a true Catholic Education. The top arch is burgundy which is also the color that represents the Bishop of Fresno's Chancery (the Bishop's office and direct staff), a symbol of the Bishop's involvement with the Education Corp. The green colonnades on the right also symbolize that Bishop's Office, immolating the colonnades outside of the Chancery building. The blue arch with the Diocesan shield symbolizes the unity that the Ed Corp. has with the Diocese of Fresno's Pastoral Center. The dove on the left represents the Holy Spirit which is always present in education ministry. Finally, at the bottom of the logo, you see a shape that represents a book when it is open, a symbol of knowledge and learning.
