      • Job Title:  President of Fresno Catholic Schools 
        Supervisor: Superintendent of Catholic Schools & Board of Directors
        FLSA Status: Non-Exempt ($180,000 - $220,000 depending on credentials and experience)
         
        Fresno Catholic School System is a preschool through high school system located in Fresno California seeking a dynamic President to successfully lead strategic initiatives.
         
        The President of Fresno Catholic Schools will be the chief executive officer of the corporation that includes four distinct schools on three separate campuses. The President will be directly accountable to the Board of Directors and the Superintendent of Catholic schools of the Diocese of Fresno.   The system includes San Joaquin Memorial High School, Holy Cross Junior High School, St. Helen Elementary School, and St. Anthony Elementary School.  The high school and junior high share a campus and the two elementary schools are situated within 4 miles of the high school/junior high location.  Each of the schools is directed by its own Principal, who is responsible for day-to-day operations. Total enrollment within the system of four schools is 1200 students with an annual budget approaching $15 million.   
         
        The President serves as the chief executive officer for the system and is responsible for the operational vitality of the schools, including advancement, enrollment, marketing, finances, and capital projects. The President leads and articulates the school’s mission and vision, creates and implements strategic plans, and builds and nurtures constituent and stakeholder relationships on and off-campus. The President also bears ultimate responsibility for the school’s Catholic identity and academic programs and is supported by a robust senior leadership team in carrying out these responsibilities.
         
        The President works to lead all members of the school community in carrying out the mission and philosophy of the school.   This is accomplished by communicating the mission and vision of the schools (and the school system) clearly and enthusiastically, by appropriately delegating responsibility and authority and creating accountability, and by prudent strategic planning and decision making. The ideal candidate embodies high-level strategic thinking and visionary leadership.
         
        The candidate should be willing to become an integral part of not only the Fresno Catholic community, but also the broader Fresno/Clovis community. She/he will be responsible for enhancing meaningful relationships, both internally and externally with all constituents.

        Summary

        The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all financial operations of Fresno Catholic Schools. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including the development and management of financial control and reporting procedures, budget oversight, tax compliance, facilities infrastructure, and adherence to financial strategies established by the Superintendent. The CFO provides strategic financial guidance to the Superintendent and the school board, ensuring the institution's fiscal health and alignment with its academic objectives. Key functions include budget development, accounting oversight, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

        Key Responsibilities:

        • Financial and Accounting Management:
        Define and implement the processes and systems necessary to support the institution's growth and the design of new business models.

        • Administrative and General Management:
        Collaborate with the managerial team to foster interdepartmental synergy and promote solidarity across all levels. Build and manage effective administrative and financial systems and staff.

        • Collaboration Management:
        Serve as a business partner to the Superintendent, providing leadership and financial strategies to ensure the achievement of academic plans and objectives. Collaborate with other school leaders on strategic planning and effectively allocate financial resources. Communicate financial information to the Superintendent, school board, staff, and other stakeholders.

        Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

        • Serve as a direct advisor to the Superintendent on financial, organizational, and administrative issues, as well as a range of tactical and strategic matters.
        • Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and metrics in accordance with established policies.
        • Manage working capital, cash flow, credit and collections, and cash flow forecasting.
        • Direct the preparation of annual, multi-year, and interim operating plans and forecasts.
        • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and laws.
        • Protect and safeguard the assets of Fresno Catholic Schools by maintaining or establishing adequate and cost-effective internal control systems and procedures.
        • Assess potential risks and develop recommendations to mitigate exposure through appropriate insurance coverage.
        • Fulfill the duties of Secretary, Treasurer, and Director as defined in the By-Laws and Articles of Fresno Catholic Schools.
        • Interface with management team members and the Superintendent to stay informed about operational changes and develop financial and management reporting priorities.
        • Collaborate effectively with the Office of Education, Board Members, colleagues, and the broader employee population, employing an energetic, enabling, and collaborative style.

        Supervisory Responsibilities:

        Manage responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure timely and accurate operations of financial, administrative, and resource functions for Fresno Catholic Schools, with a focus on improving efficiencies, management information, productivity, and profit margins.

        Qualification Requirements:

        Education:

        • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.
        • Advanced degree (MBA) and CPA preferred.

        Minimum Requirements:

        • 5-7 years of experience as a CFO or finance manager/director, with proven capabilities in managing the full spectrum of financial and administrative functions, preferably in an educational setting.
        • Strong orientation towards employing state-of-the-art internal systems to provide key metrics for the organization in a timely and accurate manner.
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary and diverse team environment.
        • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
        • Proven expertise in a growth-oriented environment and adaptability to change.

        Language Skills


        Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.         Mathematical Skills

        Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

        Reasoning Ability

        Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

        · Assures prompt submission of reports and information as required by the OCE
        · Prepares and submits the school budget in a timely manner to the OCE, as well as reviews monthly financial reports
        · Maintains up-to-date personnel files
        · Works with the OCE in order to create an effective talent and succession plan for all teachers
        · Represents the school to the Diocese of Fresno, accrediting agencies and associated shareholders

        · Communicates openly and regularly with the school and parish community

This person must have a minimum of 6 units in Child Development or Early Childhood Ed. The job will include assisting the teacher in implementing the Frog Street Pre-K curriculum. Assist teacher in incorporating daily prayer into the schedule including before snack and meals as well as during group time, Help prepare and plan lessons from The Stories of God’s Love religious curriculum. Encourage and model behaviors in the classroom that align with our Catholic values. Help maintain an orderly classroom and encourage the children to help with cleaning up.         GENERAL SUMMARY: The preschool assistant teacher (aide) is responsible for the spiritual, academic, physical and social emotional development of all children in preschool. He/she is responsible for complying with all policies set forth by Community Care Licensing, the Diocese
        of Fresno, and the local preschool site as well as upholding the Catholic teachings, practices, and traditions in their role as an assistant teacher. He/she will assist in teaching functions and other routine, non-discipline, duties that may arise in the general teaching, child care, and classroom
        housekeeping under the supervision of the preschool teacher and/or preschool director.


        ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

        • Classroom Organization: Implement plans specified by the teacher and/or director
          concerning daily/weekly schedule, individual and group activities for children, lesson
          plans, room arrangements, and learning centers. Create instructional materials and aides
          to assist the teacher during classroom instruction.

        • Classroom Management: Implement and reinforces the same management strategies
          utilized by the teacher and/or director in accordance with diocesan and school policies.
          Help students with their morning snack ensuring all children with allergies are NOT
          receiving any food/drink items that would cause an allergic reaction. Escort students to
          bathrooms and assist them with meals during lunchtime. Supervise children during
          outdoor activities. Assist students with personal hygiene; washing hands and faces; and
          preparing bedding before and after naps.

        • Teaching: Assist teacher and/or director by working with children individually and in
          groups, encouraging discovery and language development through various means
          established by the teacher and/or director. Maintain a cooperative attitude of working
          together with the teacher, volunteers, parents, and program specialists in planning and
          implementing activities.

        • Communication: Maintain accurate and complete preschool records (sign-in/sign-out
          sheets, attendance records, emergency forms, developmental profiles, time-sheets, etc.
          Observe children to detect signs of illness, injury, emotional disturbance, learning
          disorder, speech problem, or other special needs, and immediately report observations to
          the teacher. Report any symptoms of child abuse immediately to the director.

        • Understand and fulfill all aspects of faculty and student policy handbooks.

        • Understand and comply with all Community Care Licensing regulations, policies, and
          procedures.

        • Perform all other duties and assume other responsibilities which are identified as needed
          by the employer and approved and/or assigned by the teacher and/or preschool director.


        Minimum Qualifications

        To be a fully qualified assistant teacher (aide), the following shall apply:
        1. Current Child Development Associate Credential, or one of the following:
            a. High school graduate and/or participating in an occupational program conducted by an accredited high school or college.
            b. Completion of six postsecondary semester or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development, or
            c. Completion of at least two post-secondary semester units or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development following initial employment and continues in the educational program each semester (completing a min. of 6 units each semester).


        2. Shall only work under the direct supervision of a teacher.
