Before returning to the Central Valley, Chandler served the Diocese of Stockton and The Most Rev. Myron J. Cotta as Director of Media & Communications. Chandler began his career in sports marketing, working for the Fresno Grizzlies minor league baseball team and later in Corporate Partnerships for the NFL’s Oakland Raiders.
A proud alumnus of Fresno State, Chandler earned his B.A. in Media, Communications & Journalism. Since joining the Diocese of Fresno, he has led the transition from its television network, KNXT, to the establishment of a dedicated Public Affairs Office. Under his leadership, the Diocese has strengthened its voice within the global Catholic Church, including partnering with CBS for national coverage following the passing of Pope Francis. He was later invited to represent the Church in North America during the most recent papal conclave. He also secured national media coverage for the Diocese on NBC’s Today Show, CBS Mornings, Fox News, Pints with Aquinas and the front page of the New York Times.
Although Chandler was originally brought on by the Diocese of Fresno as the Director of Communications, his title was later realigned to Director of Public Affairs & Innovation to better support the Diocese’s evolving needs. In this role, he continues to advance the Diocese’s mission through public relations and community engagement while also establishing and leading the Diocese’s first-ever dedicated Technology Department and technology presence. This initiative has expanded the Diocese’s capacity to leverage emerging technologies, strengthen digital infrastructure, and develop innovative solutions that support its mission and long-term growth.
